This Secret Sisters’ Cover of Johnny Cash’s Big River might just be one of the most rollicking and wild covers I’ve heard in a long while. Big ups to Jack White’s bluesy riffs and frenetic soloing. This is such a good time, you have to listen to it. More than once.

The session is really beautiful and the sound is so fantastic. Joe Pug’s music is earnest and so enjoyable, I’ve seen him multiple times and I can honestly say, his live shows are really great.

Bad Books, the Andy Hull & Kevin Devine project were recorded playing their fantastic song ‘Baby Shoes’ at CMJ earlier this fall. Their self-titled album was released in October and it is just fantastic. They’ve been offering it up for $5 for a while now, and is well worth twice that.
