Sufjan Stevens recently released his newest album ‘The Age of Adz’ an electronic effort that grew on me so much, its become one of my favorite albums of 2010; on top of that he put on the best show I’ve seen this year. Sufjan is one of those artists that does some amazing things, and has so much incredible talent, its amazing to see. Check out his video for ‘Too Much’ and buy yourself The Age of Adz.
This is the video for 16 Shades of Black off of Fujiya & Miyagi’s 4th album ‘Ventriloquizzing.’ In this vid, F & M use these sinister little buggers, ventriloquist’s dummies. It’s really dark, atmospheric and creepy, which seems to fit the theme of the album. Look for Ventriloquizzing 1/17/11. For more F & M… check out this interview done by Matt Dyson of Dysonsound.com
The Vaccines - If You Wanna
It’s not necessarily hard to define April Smith & the Great Picture Show’s sound, classy, cabaret styled pop music. The music has a nostalgia sound to it, April Smith’s voice is utterly fantastic. Catching her set in Newport at the Folk Festival this summer, I was completely surprised at just how fantastic she was live, her voice was so perfect, the crowd ate up the music and I’ve been dying to see her again.
I’ve been particularly enamored of the video (above) for her song ‘terrible things,’ as it is zombie season (halloween.) The music is fantastic, and the grotesque video fits so well with the song, I can’t help but keep watching and listening.
Now it appears is our chance to catch her again, she’s on tour, and fantastically I have the opportunity to give away a pair of tickets to her show here in Boston at TT the Bears November 4th.
So, leave a comment in this post, and I’ll pick a winner and you’ll get a pair of tickets to see her next week here in Boston.

New Video | Best Coast - Boyfriend
Best Coast’s album, Crazy for You, was a summer gem, and they’ve finally kicked out a video for single, Boyfriend.
The video follows a young teenager on her 15th birthday dreaming about a boy. It’s all pretty basic, no wild concept, but it’s nice to hear the song refreshed again. I really enjoyed Crazy For You, had a lot of fun listening to it, and it was perfect for lazy summer days.
As for the fall that is upon us, you should considering checking out the album, get in a few listens on lazy rides in the car.
